REVIEW – Metal Slug 7 (NDS)

June 23, 2009

Though being a fun series, Metal Slug is notorious for being on consoles that weren’t very popular, including the Atomiswave and Neo-Geo. SNK Playmore eventually learnt their lesson, and ported the series to the PSP, PS2, Wii and XBOX years after their original release. They then decided to develop a completely new entry in the series, Metal Slug 7. It was released as a timed-exclusive for the DS last year, though it will supposedly be released sometime in 2010 on the XBOX Live Arcade. So, was it the right move for SNK Playmore to only release this for the DS and 360?

REVIEW – Prince of Persia: The Fallen King (NDS)

May 31, 2009

poptfkndscover

Prince of Persia: The Fallen King was released on the same day as it’s console counterpart, entitled ‘Prince of Persia’. The Fallen King is a DS-exclusive title, but almost nobody has heard of it because Ubisoft did a terrible job of advertising it. It’s certainly in the shadow of it’s console counterpart, but why? Because it’s on a handheld? Or is it because of the quality of the game itself? Read on to find out.

May 13, 2009

Call of Duty: World at War (NDS) is the second COD game developed for the DS. Obviously, unlike Modern Warfare, World at War is set in World War II. So, is it worth buying, or should you just stick to COD4?

April 26, 2009

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed received pretty mixed reviews on every console, with the DS version being the lowest rated out of them all. Well, you’d think that it’d be absolutely horrible, right?

REVIEW – Peggle: Dual Shot (NDS)

April 18, 2009

Peggle and Peggle Nights are 2 of the most celebrated PC games of all time. Peggle: Dual Shot (NDS) features both of the games on one cartridge, but with many extra features and even a few new levels. Peggle is one of Popcap’s most successful games ever, so it’s only natural that Dual Shot would become one of the best DS games ever… RIGHT?

When Rockstar Games first announced Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS, everybody was looking forward to it, even with the lack of details at the time. Almost every week, more screens, trailers and details were being released which did their job – keeping people interested. But despite all of the build-up surrounding Chinatown Wars, there was always a chance of it being terrible. Luckily for everybody, it isn’t.

Monster Lab is a game that’s rarely talked about. But why? Certainly not because it’s a bad game, because it isn’t. The most likely reason would be how underhyped it is. I actually didn’t even know the game was coming out until it well… you know, came out.

Recently, there ‘s been a huge influx of First-person shooters for the DS. This particular game was developed by Renegade Kid, the same company that made the great horror survival shooter, Dementium: The Ward (also for the DS). The publisher is Mastiff Mastiff, the same company that published Major League Eating, and Easter Bunny’s Big Day. Err… yeah, Mastiff aren’t exactly known for quality. Luckily, Moon breaks the trend of sucking major ass, and delivers on being one of the best FPS titles the DS has to offer!
