The Name Game

September 3, 2009

Hey guys, you probably know us as Elpam, Skambu, Craigieboy, Gasp, and Juggernaut, but…
SHOCK AND AWE! We have real names! And as we move up in the world of being-a-gaming-site, we’re gonna be using them more often. Soon, I’ll have a page up with full bios soon, but for now, use my handy chart.

ELPAM: Caleb
DRATH: Oliver (but call him Oli or he’ll rip your throat out)
GASP: Gaspar

So with this knowledge, go forth and use our names correctly! Or at least don’t be confused when we make a reference to them…

The DreamCast – Episode 16: Ah Fuck…

August 7, 2009

Dreamcast Logo

Download the podcast here!

This week on the podcast, we talk about transitions, maturity, our site getting serious, and dropping our aliases. Oh, and penis jokes. Can’t forget them.

WATCH THIS VIDEO BEFORE YOU LISTEN. It’s like 10 seconds, and you’ll understand the entire podcast if you do.

For serious, though, please comment on (and Digg, if you enjoy it) our stuff. We work pretty hard and get around 25-50 views a day, and it’d mean the world to us if you left a short comment when you read our stuff. Honestly, we would really appreciate it if you’d Digg us. That would let more people listen to a bunch of obnoxious guys with bad microphones! Who wouldn’t wanna listen to that?

Site Update – “Movin’ On Up!”

August 1, 2009

Hey guys, here at the Virtual Level257 offices, we’ve been rearranging and updating the site. So here’s our next update, we are now no longer!

Elpam took the plunge and bought a domain, so I proudly announce here that we’re now!

We’re also trying to make the site more professional, so we now have professional e-mails, even if Google MX is horrible and has a terrible interface. Gasp is trying to sign up for a GamesPress account so we can get sent press releases, so you can look forward to more talk about that!

Also, Gaming on the Go! should be coming back very soon!

Australian Gaming Prices, and you think YOU had it bad!

July 19, 2009

Since I’m an avid podcast listener and forum browser, I regularly see North Americans complaining about the prices of games where they live. Now imagine this, imagine that you live in a country where games and especially consoles cost a ridiculous amount more. How would you feel then? Like a whiny bitch? Well, you should, because you are. I hate you.

NOTE: To make this fair, I’m going to use the prices from the GameStop website for North America, and the prices from the EB Games Australia website for Australia.

SITE UPDATE – A few small things.

July 11, 2009

Just to let you guys know, I’ve went through the site and changed quite a few things. Let me organize it in a nice pretty list for you:
– I deleted a few of the modules on the right column that weren’t needed, such as the Blog Roll.

– I went back and edited some of the content that was posted while I was gone, so now it looks prettier.

– I added a lot of our XBOX 360 Gamer Cards and PS3 Trophy Cards.

– Mine and Elpam’s Twitters were both added to the right column, so check those out.

That’s pretty much all, just thought I’d mention it. Also, I don’t think I’ll be posting for at least another few days. But expect a comeback of Gaming on the Go!

Peggle: World of Warcraft Edition – The First Step.

July 9, 2009

That’s right. It finally happened. Two of the most addictive games ever have joined forces to release an unstoppable beast… that’s right. If you go to PopCap now, then you’ll be able to download a 10-level pack entitled ‘Peggle: World of Warcraft Edition‘ for the PC version of Peggle, completely free.
